| The Wake County Public School System has great teachers. Great schools. Special programs. Innovative learning environments.
Discover which school is right for your child and your family’s needs. The new student assignment plan is designed to give you choices of where to enroll your child.
And from there, your child will grow as a learner to achieve success. At WCPSS, we believe in the potential of all students and are committed to providing them a world-class education.
Remember: if you're satisfied with your child's current school, he or she can stay there with their current level of transportation.

Online Magnet School Selection Period Begins Monday, 1 p.m. |
Beginning at 1 p.m. on Mon., Dec. 5, Wake County parents can participate in the online magnet selection process for the 2012-13 school year. |

| New Student Assignment Portal Now Live
|
A Message from Cris Mulder, Chief of Family and Community Engagement
Team - I'm excited to announce that the new student assignment portal assignment.wcpss.net is now live!
You'll note that this aligns with the discover.enroll.grow campaign that we developed for the roll-out communications of the new Choice Student Assignment Plan.
This portal allows parents an easy, one-stop experience by outlining specific actions they need to take and directing them to sections on www.wcpss.net:
- Discover | Learn more about schools, guiding them directly to the school profile pages, and resources: maps, student demographics, address look-up, curriculum -- info they need to help them make an informed choice.
- Enroll | Getting started, plan specifics including enrollment and choice outcomes, timelines, and specific enrollment information by groups (rising K, middle/high, English Learners, Spec Ed)
- Grow | Link to parent and student resources, and support services.
Additionally, parents can view upcoming information sessions (and view the ppt if they are unable to attend), read the FAQs (which are updated frequently) and complete a Contact Us form (helping us to track the inquiry and capture contact information). |
